What size should I get?
"UK 9" is not one length: every brand prints its own size chart. Tell us the shoes you have worn, your size in each and how it fitted, and we will suggest your size in the shoe you are buying, with the reasons and how sure we are.
Your shoes are saved in this browser only. Nothing you enter here is sent to us.
1. Shoes you have worn
Running shoes you know your size in. Two or more from different brands work best.
No shoes yet.
Optional: your measured foot length
Stand on paper, mark your heel and longest toe, measure the longer foot. We use it as a cross-check: shoes you have worn count for more than a tape measure.
2. The shoe you want
How it works
- Each shoe you add is placed on the target brand's chart, using each brand's official chart. Where two brands print lengths the same way we compare lengths; otherwise we compare by US size through each brand's own UK and EU conversions, because brands disagree far more about how they measure than about their US sizes.
- Your fit nudges that: "felt short" up, "felt a bit long" down. Across brands a nudge is a quarter size; in the same shoe or an earlier version it is half a size, with your current size kept as the alternative.
- We average your shoes and pick the nearest size. If you sit between two sizes we say so and show both.
- A shoe you have worn in the same line (an earlier version) counts for more than any chart. When enough runners have said a model runs small or large, we take that into account too.
What it can't know
- Brand charts describe a brand's sizing system, not the shape of each model. Two shoes from one brand can fit differently.
- Width, volume and heel hold are not in any chart. We can only pass on what you and other runners report.
- Some brands publish no chart we could check (On, Topo Athletic); for those we can only use other shoes of the same brand you have worn.

Men's UK 9 is not one size
What each brand's own chart prints for men's UK 9, exactly as published. The same UK 9 is US 9.5 or US 10, depending on the brand. The lengths printed beside it are up to 13 mm apart, but brands measure differently (foot length, inner length, Japanese size), so we only compare lengths between brands that print them the same way.
| Brand chart | UK 9 is | Length printed |

| adidas (unisex) | US 9.5 | 26.7 cm foot length |

| New Balance | US 9.5 | 27.5 cm foot length |
